How it works in Texas

What stands behind a clean return

Service and filing in Texas run on specific rules. Knowing them is the difference between a return that files and one that bounces.

Certified to serve statewide

In Texas, civil process is served by a sheriff, a constable, or a process server certified by the Judicial Branch Certification Commission. That certification is granted after an approved course and a background check, and it authorizes service anywhere in the state. Our servers carry it.

Filing through eFileTexas

Attorneys must file civil, family, and probate documents electronically in every district and county court through the state portal, eFileTexas. Harris and Fort Bend were in the first group of counties to require it back in 2014. Khuong Le handles your filings as your filing agent.

The right court, the right clerk

Each county runs civil district courts, county courts at law, and justice courts with their own constables. Sending a document to the wrong court or clerk costs a day or more. Knowing where each filing belongs is half the job.

A note on credentials. Texas process servers are certified by the Judicial Branch Certification Commission, the body that oversees process server certification for the state. A certified server is authorized to serve process statewide, which is what lets us cover every county on this page.

Why it matters

The procedures live in the details.

Two decades in these courthouses teaches you the things no rulebook lists. That knowledge is why our returns hold up and our filings clear the first time.

  • Which clerk's office wants what, and how they want it presented
  • Courthouse hours, intake windows, and the quiet times that move work faster
  • Constable precincts and when a particular matter belongs with them
  • Local filing quirks that differ from one county to the next
  • Drive times and geography that decide whether a same day attempt is realistic

"Their knowledge of Harris County courts and the local legal community saves us time and prevents unnecessary delays. They understand how things actually work here."
